Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Education Needs (SEN) in a specialist secondary school setting. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pupils with SEN in a one-to-one or small group setting, providing individualized support to help them remain focused and on task.
  • Guide pupils when they are struggling, helping them to become regulated and calm.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to pupils, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in supporting individuals with SEN, such as Autism.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and maintain a calm and patient demeanor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of SEN policies and procedures, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
