We are currently seeking senior staff nurses for our Unplanned Care Team, which employs a forward-thinking approach to nursing. This role focuses on timely responses to patient needs in their homes, preventing unnecessary hospital stays, and facilitating early discharges. As a vital member of our team, you will conduct clinical assessments, provide support to senior clinical staff, mentor junior colleagues, and collaborate with a diverse multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a proactive individual ready to embrace the challenges of providing care in a home environment as part of the Unplanned Care team. You will work closely with various professionals in the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. This role involves working on a rotational basis within a 24/7 service, utilizing modern technology to deliver prompt and effective care.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, proficiency in palliative care, wound management, catheterization, and catheter care. You should also exhibit leadership qualities, mentor junior staff, maintain high standards of patient care, and ensure positive experiences for those we serve.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Current NMC registration
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) or equivalent professional qualifications
Desirable:
- Teaching or assessing experience in clinical practice
- V100/V300 prescribing qualification or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualifications
Specialized Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Ability to delegate effectively
- Proven management and staff development skills
- Understanding of the District Nursing service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
Desirable:
- Experience in community healthcare (District Nursing)
- Knowledge of managing patients with chronic conditions
