About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sub Agent to join our Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd team on a major highways improvement project in Gloucester.

This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in managing and delivering key sections of the project, ensuring the successful completion of highway structures.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a Sub Agent on highways or large-scale infrastructure projects, with a strong background in managing structural works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage specific sections of the project, ensuring all activities are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors, ensuring that all site operations are carried out safely and effectively.
  • Develop and implement detailed work plans, ensuring alignment with the overall project programme. Coordinate with other teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure that all work meets the specified standards by conducting regular inspections and addressing any quality issues promptly.
  • Promote a strong safety culture on site, ensuring that all team members comply with health and safety regulations and that any risks are properly managed.
  • Act as a key point of contact for client representatives, project managers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and quality documentation. Report regularly to the Project Manager on the status of your section.
Key Requirements
  • Extensive experience as a Sub Agent on highways or large-scale infrastructure projects, with a strong background in managing structural works.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., MICE) are highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with a proven track record of successfully overseeing site teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, engineering principles, and relevant standards.
  • Familiarity with IR35 regulations and the operational requirements for roles within this framework.
