We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our Estates Department as a Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful ongoing operation and maintenance of our premises and assets, with a focus on liaising with our Projects teams and ensuring statutory compliance and a suitable environment for patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that our premises and assets are installed, operated, and maintained in accordance with our policies, DoH guidance (HTM/HBN), and industry best practice.
- Provide detailed professional technical advice to staff and contractors on complex and non-routine issues related to infrastructure and associated plant and equipment.
- Monitor the performance of plant and equipment against commissioning data and operations manuals to ensure compliance with HTM's and relevant industry guidance.
- Re-commission control panels in accordance with HTM's and operations manuals as part of validation and verification checks.
- Act as a specialist in your field and make appropriate decisions to ensure the successful delivery of maintenance of the infrastructure required for patient support.
- Education to or working towards degree level in mechanical engineering or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
- Evidence of specific job-related continuous professional development.
- Technical qualifications related to the role within healthcare or equivalent.
- Engineering experience in an operational NHS and/or healthcare estates maintenance environment with a proven track record and wide range of expertise.
- Experience of contract and subcontract management with a number of external organisations.
- Project management and process experience for capital projects and minor works, lifecycle/backlog replacement, refurbishment programmes, and infrastructure development work.
