Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at an outstanding primary school in Woolwich, South East London.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young men with additional social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school provides a nurturing environment where students can thrive and achieve their full potential.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students on a 1-to-1 basis, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement lesson plans and create engaging learning experiences.
  • Guide and mentor students, helping them develop essential life skills and build confidence.
  • Facilitate small group activities and excursions, providing alternative learning opportunities outside the classroom.
  • Build strong relationships with students, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

You will possess:

  • Experience working within an alternative provision setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and understanding approach to teaching.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
