Job Title: Laboratory Manager

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team at CY Partners. As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our laboratory facility and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain stocks of reagents, plasticware, chemicals, and other consumables for routine testing, production, and research and development.
  • Schedule maintenance, repairs, and calibration in accordance with our Quality Management System.
  • Purchase new scientific equipment and lab consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with our Quality Management System, investigating nonconformities and supplier complaints alongside our QA team.
  • Maintain equipment records according to our Quality Management System.
  • Initiate, approve, and close corrective actions.
  • Assist in training new members of the laboratory team.
Requirements:
  • A degree, master's, or Ph.D. in a biological subject, such as molecular biology, biochemistry, biology, cell biology, or similar, or have equivalent working experience.
  • A good understanding of molecular biology techniques, such as PCR.
  • Experience contributing to the management of a life sciences laboratory.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with an interdisciplinary group.
  • Experience of negotiating with suppliers would be an advantage.
  • Experience of working to ISO9001 and/or ISO13485, GMP/GLP Quality Management Systems would be an advantage.
  • Good general IT skills, including MS office, are essential.
