We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geriatrician to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our geriatric medicine services.
Key Responsibilities- Support and further develop the geriatric service, including the consolidation of current inpatient clinical services for older people.
- Provide high-quality healthcare for older patients referred for diagnosis and treatment, and respond to inpatient and outpatient referrals from other specialties.
- Participate in educational and audit meetings, and meet CPD and revalidation requirements.
- Lead daily board rounds and ward rounds on relevant wards, and contribute to research in Medicine for the Elderly in an area of special interest.
- Contribute to meeting the 18-week outpatient target, and contribute to other quality indicators where relevant.
- MBBS or equivalent, with full registration with the GMC and a licence to practise.
- Register for Geriatric Medicine or within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
- Broad-based general training, with experience of acute and general medicine.
- Knowledge of research methodology and clinical trials, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
