About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older patients and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support and further develop the geriatric service, including the consolidation of current inpatient clinical services for older people.
  2. Provide high-quality healthcare for older patients referred for diagnosis and treatment.
  3. Lead on new initiatives for the care of older people and contribute to research in Medicine for the Elderly.
  4. Contribute to meeting the 4-hour waiting time target in the Emergency Department and other quality indicators where relevant.
  5. Participate in clinical audit and implement audit findings as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC and hold a licence to practise and be on the GMC Specialist Register for Geriatric Medicine or within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
  • Broad-based general training and wide experience of acute & general medicine.
  • Broad-based training in Geriatric Medicine and a special interest within Geriatric Medicine complementing those currently in the directorate.
