Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV/LGV Class 1 Driver to join our team at Great Bear. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a range of HGV Class 1 vehicles, including articulated lorries and trailers, to transport goods to customers' premises.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle is in good working order and report any defects or issues to the Transport Coordinator.
  • Manage your time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and adhere to tachograph rules and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and the Transport Office to ensure smooth delivery operations.
  • Report any problems or discrepancies with loads to the Transport Coordinator and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery.
  • Adhere to site procedures at each delivery point and ensure a high standard of behaviour and appearance.
Requirements
  • A valid HGV Class 1 licence and a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
  • No more than 6 points on your driving licence and a valid DCPC & Tacho card.
  • Ability to understand and comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
