We are seeking a highly skilled HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team at Great Bear. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Transport Coordinator at the start of each shift and ensure thorough completion of paperwork.
  • Adhere to company rules and procedures, including health, safety, and hygiene protocols.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport department and effectively manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive.
  • Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure and maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance.
  • Make deliveries to customers' premises, acting in a professional manner at all times and ensuring proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery.
  • Regularly communicate with the Transport Office and Customer Services to ensure seamless delivery operations.
  • Observe and adhere to site procedures at each delivery point and complete defect reports as required.
Requirements
  • A valid HGV 1/C+E Licence and a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
  • No more than 6 points, no DD/DR Code convictions, and current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
  • Ability to understand and comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation, as well as on-site health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
