Role Overview:
As an Automotive Interior Project Specialist, you will be integral to the oversight and execution of interior components for our automotive initiatives. Your specialized knowledge will be crucial in ensuring that our vehicle interiors not only meet but exceed the highest benchmarks of quality, safety, and innovation.
- Oversee and coordinate project activities related to the development of body interiors, ensuring compliance with established timelines and financial plans.
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams to assess, select, and implement suitable methodologies and criteria for the design and integration of interior components.
- Leverage your expertise to make strategic decisions and modifications to standard procedures, particularly in managing smaller work packages within the project framework.
- Direct and supervise specific assignments, including the development of 3D CAD models, workflow optimization, and preparation of project documentation.
- Assist in various departmental tasks as necessary, contributing to the formulation of schedules and budgets for project outputs.
- Take charge of designated project segments related to body interior design, managing interactions with styling teams to ensure optimal occupant positioning.
- Provide comprehensive project engineering oversight for complete vehicle interior systems, encompassing fascia, tunnel, seating, restraints, instruments and controls, lower and rear trim, upper trim, closure trim, and HVAC systems.
- Implement best practices in project management, including principles of design for manufacture and assembly, to guarantee adherence to project goals and regulatory standards.
- Lead work package initiatives, conducting design sizing analyses, assembly simulations, and assessments of cost, timing, and mass.
- Facilitate effective communication with project stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers, and partners, to ensure cohesion and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience in project engineering or related fields within the automotive sector.
- Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and project management best practices.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering or a related discipline.
