Position Overview

EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST (Special Education PK-12)
(0.5 – 1.0 FTE)

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid school psychologist certification issued by the relevant educational authority.
  • Proven ability to conduct and lead evaluations for special education in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Expertise in administering and interpreting diverse assessments to evaluate students with various learning and emotional challenges.
  • Commitment to supporting the holistic development of students through a structured support system, emphasizing the least restrictive environment.
  • Proficient in drafting comprehensive evaluation reports, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and behavioral support plans.
  • Familiarity or readiness to engage in training related to student assistance processes and crisis management protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills with extensive knowledge of effective accommodations and evidence-based interventions.
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma and mental health issues on student performance and well-being.
  • Dedication to promoting equity, social justice, and inclusivity in educational practices.
  • Willingness to undergo training in crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders including students, families, educators, and community organizations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management capabilities.
  • Proficient in utilizing technology for data management and documentation.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to district policies and procedures.
