**The Role**

As a Mechanical Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for performing stress analysis tasks, including ownership of stress analysis of assigned components, collaborating with support functions, and interfacing with global engineering organizations.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Perform stress analysis of assigned components, including gas turbine rotating parts, using the latest modeling techniques.
  • Collaborate with support functions, such as stress analysis, life management, heat transfer, materials, and design.
  • Interface with global engineering organizations and other internal organizations to support activity on assigned components.
  • Generate and deliver technical/program presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Write technical documents, including Design Study Summaries, Technical Memorandums, Coordination Memos, and Certification Reports.

**Requirements**

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace/aeronautical, manufacturing).
  • Gas turbine experience and familiarity with 2D and 3D stress analysis.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical APDL, meshing applications, and computer-aided modeling programs.
  • Prior experience with life analysis (fatigue, damage tolerance, and fracture mechanics) is preferred.

**Computer Requirements**

PC-based Windows applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ANSYS Classic, Hypermesh, UG NX, PLM Teamcenter, and Salesforce.
