Job Title: Lead Stress Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Stress Engineer to join our team at oilandgas. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading stress analysis activities for gas turbine design and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead stress analysis of assigned components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including stress analysis, life management, heat transfer, materials, and design, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Interface with global engineering organizations and other internal teams to support activity on assigned components.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to internal and external customers, including systems tech reviews, design reviews, and internal analysis reviews.
  • Prepare and document design engineering activity on assigned components, including Design Study Summaries, Technical Memorandums, Coordination Memos, and Certification Reports.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in gas turbine design and analysis, with expertise in 2D and 3D stress analysis.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical APDL or Workbench, meshing applications such as Hypermesh or UG NX, and computer-aided modeling programs like UG NX.
  • Prior experience with component life analysis, fatigue, damage tolerance, and fracture mechanics is preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and guide team members.
  • Ability to adapt to emerging customer demands and priorities.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, such as mechanical, aerospace/aeronautical, or manufacturing.

Computer Requirements:

  • Proficiency in PC-based Windows applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with proprietary software applications, including ANSYS Classic, Hypermesh, UG NX, and PLM Teamcenter.
