Leader Recruitment Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a co-educational secondary school specializing in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff members to implement lesson plans and create a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Utilize your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, fostering their emotional well-being and academic progress.
  • Demonstrate patience, resilience, and understanding when working with students who may exhibit challenging behaviors.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children or vulnerable adults, particularly those with complex needs.
  • A strong understanding of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and their implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn new strategies and approaches.
