Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a co-education secondary school provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have experience working with children or vulnerable adults with complex needs, and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to adapt to the diverse needs of students and provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in lessons and activities to support student learning and participation
- Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture
- Competitive pay rates
- Refer a friend or colleague bonus scheme: £100 per referral (terms apply)
- Free CPD including Team Teach
- A dedicated consultant to answer any queries and for ongoing support
- Potential permanent contract after a qualifying period
- DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
- A good knowledge of EHCPs
- The ability to assist in lessons and activities
