Job Title: Learning Disability Support Worker - Waking Nights

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Carlisle Mencap. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling lives and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Relationships: Build trusting relationships with service users, encouraging them to express their needs, views, and concerns.
  • Support Planning: Assist service users in developing care plans and person-centered plans that reflect their needs and wishes, promoting choice, independence, and inclusion.
  • Personal Care: Provide personal care for service users, respecting their dignity and rights, and using appropriate manual handling methods and equipment.
  • Community Involvement: Encourage service users to participate in community activities, promoting social inclusion and independence.
  • Medication Administration: Safely store and administer medication as required.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a supportive and friendly atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to keep accurate records.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
  • Initiative: Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Qualifications: RQF Level 2 in Adult Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities in a residential or community setting.
