Currently, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to take charge of the design, implementation, and upkeep of our Azure Stack Hub environment, along with the physical networking and cabling essential for our data centers. This role involves close collaboration with cloud architects and system administrators to ensure optimal integration and performance across both cloud and on-premise systems.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in administering, configuring, and managing private-cloud solutions.
  • Ability to manage private-cloud solutions across multiple locations.
  • Experience with site-to-site failover and replication in private-cloud environments.
  • Understanding of Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) along with on-premise backup management.
  • Knowledge of traffic management and networking within secure private-cloud frameworks.
  • Familiarity with hardware redundancy and high availability concepts.
  • Skills in monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing private-cloud performance.
  • Capability to implement security measures aligned with best practices to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance.
  • Experience in maintaining on-premise systems.
  • Proficiency in documenting all infrastructure components.
  • Understanding of Windows Server administration.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Azure Management:
    • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of Azure Stack Hub resources.
    • Integrate and manage services such as Entra Governance within the Azure Stack Hub.
    • Monitor and optimize hybrid cloud performance.
    • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance.
  • Physical Network Setup:
    • Install and configure servers, switches, and other hardware for Azure Stack Hub and traditional environments.
    • Manage network cabling (CAT6, fiber optic) to ensure high standards of integrity.
    • Oversee power distribution, cooling, and physical security in server rooms and data centers.
  • Infrastructure Support:
    • Collaborate with cloud architects, network engineers, and security teams to enhance overall IT infrastructure.
    • Provide hands-on support during network upgrades, data migrations, and new service deployments.
    • Quickly troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity issues.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Maintain thorough documentation for all infrastructure components, both cloud and on-premise.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry regulations.
  • Project Involvement:
    • Engage in planning and executing projects involving hybrid cloud environments, including Azure Stack Hub service expansions.
    • Work with vendors and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.

Preferred Certifications:

  • AZ-400 Azure Administrator Associate
  • AZ-800 Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Azure Stack Hub Operator Associate
  • Cisco CCNA
  • CompTIA Server+

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Exhibits strong technical proficiency in both cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Comfortable with hands-on physical infrastructure management alongside cloud systems.
  • Proactive in learning and staying current with hybrid cloud technologies.
  • Effective collaborator across teams for seamless infrastructure management.

This position may require security clearance. Candidates will need to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard as part of the onboarding process.
