Position Overview
We are currently seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer responsible for the architecture, implementation, and upkeep of our Azure Stack Hub infrastructure, alongside the physical networking and cabling that supports our data centers. This role involves close collaboration with cloud architects and system administrators to ensure optimal integration and performance across both cloud-based and on-premise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Azure Stack Hub:
- Lead the deployment, configuration, and continuous management of Azure Stack Hub resources.
- Integrate and oversee services such as Entra Governance within the Azure Stack Hub framework.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance the performance of hybrid cloud systems.
- Implement security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Physical Network Configuration:
- Install and configure servers, switches, and other hardware necessary for both Azure Stack Hub and traditional on-premise environments.
- Manage network cabling (CAT6, fiber optic) ensuring high standards of physical network integrity.
- Oversee power distribution, cooling, and physical security within server facilities.
- Data Center Operations:
- Conduct regular maintenance assessments on both cloud-integrated and traditional systems.
- Document network configurations, cabling layouts, and equipment setups, maintaining current records for compliance and auditing.
- Infrastructure Collaboration:
- Work with cloud architects, network engineers, and security teams to support the overall IT infrastructure.
- Provide hands-on assistance during network upgrades, data migrations, and the rollout of new services within the Azure Stack Hub.
- Quickly troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity challenges.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain thorough documentation for all infrastructure components, including both cloud and on-premise elements.
- Ensure all configurations adhere to organizational security policies and industry regulations.
- Project Participation:
- Engage in the planning and execution of projects involving hybrid cloud environments, including the expansion of Azure Stack Hub services.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
Candidate Requirements:
- Technical Proficiency:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Stack Hub, including deployment and management.
- Expertise in integrating and managing services like Entra Governance within hybrid environments.
- Strong background in on-premise networking, including server installation and network cabling.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud infrastructure, integrating on-premise and Azure solutions.
- Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in data centers with both cloud-integrated and traditional IT setups.
- Experience in managing and supporting hybrid cloud solutions, particularly with Azure Stack Hub.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, security best practices, and troubleshooting in both cloud and physical environments.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Stack Hub Operator, or equivalent experience.
- Network+ or Cisco CCNA certifications are advantageous.
Ideal Candidate:
- Exhibits strong technical expertise in both cloud and on-premise environments.
- Comfortable working hands-on with physical infrastructure while managing cloud-based systems.
- Proactive in learning and staying updated with the latest hybrid cloud technologies.
- Effectively collaborates across teams to ensure seamless infrastructure management.
This role may require security clearance. Candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard as part of the onboarding process.
