OBJECTIVE
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional educational experiences and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care. Your role will involve collaborating with fellow staff members to create a nurturing environment that promotes learning and development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
CHILDREN'S EDUCATION AND CARE
- Facilitate access to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) by effectively planning and implementing educational activities.
- Support the development, safety, and overall well-being of children, including the positive management of behavior.
- Collaborate with team members to design and deliver engaging activities tailored to the needs of all children, including those with Special Educational Needs.
- Create a warm, safe, and joyful atmosphere for children to thrive.
- Promote understanding and appreciation of diverse religious, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds through integrated activities.
- Assist in the preparation and serving of snacks and meals, considering individual dietary needs and adhering to food policies.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions on nursery operations.
- Serve as a positive role model for students and assist new staff in acclimating to the nursery environment.
- Encourage parental involvement in the nursery and their children's educational journey.
- Manage resources responsibly and effectively.
- Act as a key person for a designated group of children, ensuring their nursery experience is enjoyable and educational.
SAFEGUARDING
- Implement necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Report any concerns to the designated safeguarding officer promptly.
- Adhere to the observe, record, report procedures consistently.
- Stay informed about updates to safeguarding policies and procedures.
DOCUMENTATION
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and observations as required by the nursery.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's health, well-being, and educational development.
- Engage in planning, assessments, and documentation to ensure high-quality childcare and education.
HYGIENE STANDARDS
- Uphold exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards for yourself, children, equipment, and the environment.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
- Commit to promoting equality and diversity in all employment aspects, adhering to the Equal Opportunities and Inclusion Policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
- Valid Enhanced DBS check.
