About the Role

Contract type: Permanent, full-time, office-based

Salary: Based on experience

As the Financial Executive Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to formulate and execute the financial strategy of the organization, providing expert advice on corporate finance issues and critically evaluating assumptions and decision-making processes;
  • Supervising the creation and distribution of financial statements, analyzing these reports, and offering insights and recommendations to drive growth;
  • Overseeing cash flow management;
  • Leading the budgeting process, which includes preparing and managing budgets across all divisions;
  • Enhancing the organization’s processes to optimize efficiency and achieve exceptional outcomes. By directing the financial operations, you will facilitate business growth and establish a solid framework for financial procedures, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has demonstrable experience as a Financial Executive Officer or in a senior financial leadership capacity;
  • Is a fully qualified chartered accountant (ACA or ACCA);
  • Possesses extensive expertise in corporate financial management and strategic planning;
  • Has a background in mergers and acquisitions, financial forecasting, risk management, and corporate financial legislation;
  • Is experienced in preparing management accounts and utilizing financial software and systems, particularly Xero.

Additionally, you should have:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • The capability to effectively manage and lead a team;
  • Strong financial insight and analytical skills;
  • Familiarity with the independent education sector (preferred).
