About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our pharmacy team as a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive work environment.

As a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Engaging in medicines management duties, including medicines reconciliation and ordering medications.
  • Providing a dispensing service for patients within the Trust.
  • Completing a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practices for Pharmacy Technicians through virtual college attendance on day release.

You will receive full support from an Educational Supervisor and qualified pharmacy assessors to complete the qualification.

This role requires a high degree of enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment to study and train to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs/equivalent grades A-C/4-9, including Maths, English Language, and TWO Science subjects (preferably Chemistry and Biology).
  • An interest in healthcare and the NHS.
  • Knowledge of own limitations.
  • Knowledge of the qualification (apprenticeship).

Desirable qualifications include NVQ Level 2, Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills, and knowledge of pharmacy drugs.

Experience of team working, working on own initiative, and dealing with people is also desirable.

Pharmacy experience in a hospital or community setting is also an advantage.
