Main Responsibilities

You will work in close partnership with other members of our multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that patients have access to the latest advancements in oncology and haematology medications. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing pharmacy technician clinical pharmacy services on designated wards.
  • Collaborating within our innovative clinical pharmacy team to ensure a high-quality, patient-centered clinical pharmacy and medication supply service for oncology patients.
  • Supporting the satellite dispensary as needed, including dispensing and accuracy checking of medications.
  • Facilitating medication requirements for chemotherapy patients.
  • Managing controlled drug returns and monitoring pharmacy resuscitation boxes.
  • Assisting within the Homecare service.

You will be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, along with a genuine interest in patient-focused services and continuous improvement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Participating in pharmacy technician-based clinical pharmacy services on designated wards.
  • Contributing to service delivery within day case units.
  • Conducting comprehensive medication assessments for patients upon admission.
  • Engaging in discharge planning processes and liaising with healthcare professionals.
  • Counseling patients and their caregivers on medication use and side effects.
  • Maintaining optimal stock levels of medications across ward areas.
  • Participating in training and supervision of pharmacy assistants and other staff.
  • Contributing to clinical audits and practice research as required.
