Position Overview:
Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a PROJECT OFFICER to oversee and implement various initiatives within the community.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all projects in collaboration with the Projects and Events Manager, ensuring adherence to established governance protocols and preparing reports for the relevant Committees.
This role also involves providing administrative support for all Council projects and events, fostering effective relationships with stakeholders to facilitate successful project delivery.
Additionally, the Project Officer will be required to attend meetings outside of standard hours and take minutes as necessary.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, and execute all Council projects in partnership with the Projects and Events Manager, ensuring compliance with governance arrangements and generating reports for the appropriate Committee.
- Assist the Projects and Events Manager with the administration of all Council projects and events.
- Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders to enhance the execution of Council projects and events.
- Attend meetings that may occur outside of regular hours and document minutes when required.
- Provide reception coverage as needed in the absence of the Admin Officer.
- Support colleagues and perform additional reasonable duties as directed by the Clerk.
- Contribute to the content and development of the Council's website and social media platforms.
- Ensure personal health and safety responsibilities are met and promote compliance among colleagues to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in the preparation and compilation of information for the Annual report.
- Engage in training and attend relevant courses as deemed necessary.

- Possession of a relevant Health and Safety Level 2 qualification (or willingness to pursue).
- Excellent written English, numeracy, and IT skills.

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
