Ultimate Banking is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join their team as a 2nd line of defence Risk team member.
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the embedding of credit and financial risk management frameworks to ensure they are robust and remain up to date.
Working closely with the business, you will identify, quantify, and assess risks, and support the process for overseeing the business models and framework, providing independent oversight and challenge from a risk management perspective.
Key Responsibilities- Support the maintenance, development, and enhancement of regular reporting routines
- Prepare risk analysis for relevant stakeholders and committees
- Present risk data and intelligence in a clear and effective way
- Interpret data, analyze themes, and trends, and communicate these to drive insights
- Support the embedding of a robust risk management framework, including risk management and policy reviews, to be monitored on a regular basis
- Undertake detailed analysis of Credit Risk portfolio performance to identify areas of emerging risk
- Work closely with various business units, including IT, to create and automate tools for Prudential Risk Projects
- Build and improve existing MI and analytical reporting tools to improve our understanding of current trends
- Strengthen Credit Risk capabilities by incorporating new data sources in Credit Risk oversight
- Proven analysis skills with advanced Excel skills, including Data, Power Query, Tables & Formatting, and VBA
- 1 year + proven experience in a risk management or data analytics role
- Experience of producing insightful analysis from data sets
- Bachelor's / master's degree or equivalent in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Maths, Science, Computer Science, Economics etc.)
- Some technical understanding around credit risk and broader prudential risks with understanding of the prudential regulatory framework

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of risk management principles and practices, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and communicate insights effectively.
This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary range of up to £48k, dependent on experience.
