Job Title: Lead Operational Risk Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team of analysts in refining lending strategy, reporting on performance, and creating insight for senior committees and regulators.

As a Lead Operational Risk Manager, you will be responsible for managing the credit risk of the Society's Unsecured portfolios, which includes designing effective new lending strategies, managing the credit quality of Personal Loans, Credit Cards, and Current Accounts, and providing specialist credit risk advice to the business.

You will relish the chance to engage with senior leaders across the business and be prepared to shape the bigger picture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of analysts in refining lending strategy and reporting on performance
  • Manage the credit risk of the Society's Unsecured portfolios
  • Design effective new lending strategies
  • Manage the credit quality of Personal Loans, Credit Cards, and Current Accounts
  • Provide specialist credit risk advice to the business
  • Engage with senior leaders across the business and shape the bigger picture
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Credit Risk Portfolio Management
  • In-depth knowledge of Retail Credit Risk, especially in Unsecured lending
  • Experience conducting regular portfolio reviews and stress testing
  • The ability to oversee and optimise credit risk portfolio according to the Nationwide's risk appetite and strategic goals
  • Demonstrable experience designing and updating comprehensive credit risk policies that are compliant with regulatory requirements
  • Experience collaborating with senior management to integrate risk management frameworks into the Society's strategy
