About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive individual to join our team as the Right Hand Man for our building works Contracts Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Contracts Manager in all aspects of managing our projects, including site visits, dealing with trades queries, reviewing quality of work, ordering materials, and managing schedules of work.
  • Ensure daily logs are completed and project documentation is in place, and oversee the administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential risks and issues related to contracts and propose mitigation strategies, and monitor contract performance and escalate any deviations or disputes to the Contracts Manager for resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, including contract files, daily logs, correspondence, change orders, and amendments.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external parties regarding contract-related inquiries, clarifications, and updates, and facilitate effective communication between different departments and project teams.
  • Assist in monitoring project budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring that contract-related expenses are accounted for and managed within approved budgets, and collaborate with the commercial manager to track expenditures and reconcile financial records.
  • Prepare regular updates on contract status, milestones, and performance metrics for review by senior management, and analyse data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of 5 years in contract management within the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with other team members and clients alike.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
