About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join AKT II, a design-led company based in Cambridge, as a Senior Structural Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural engineering designs for various projects, including commercial, health, retail, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead specialist structural engineering design projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement design solutions, meeting project deadlines and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and project success.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to improve project outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of the team, mentoring junior engineers and sharing expertise to drive excellence.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer (IStructE or ICE) with a strong background in structural engineering, preferably with experience in concrete and steel structures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in design and analysis software, including 3D modeling tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
