Job Title: Financial Operations Manager

Location: Burnley, Lancashire

Salary Range: £32,000 - £36,000 + Benefits

Simpson Judge Ltd is collaborating with a family-run wholesale and distribution company seeking a skilled finance professional to enhance their team in Burnley.

This position offers a fantastic opportunity to become part of an organization known for its positive work environment and growth potential. You will work closely with the Site Director and Financial Director, with the primary goal of ensuring precise and reliable financial reporting while overseeing the company's financial operations. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to manage a variety of tasks effectively.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the accounts payable department.
  • Maintaining accurate records for all daily financial transactions and processing purchase invoices.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring accurate stock records.
  • Preparing quarterly financial statements.
  • Completing weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports.
  • Assisting with financial audits.
  • Reviewing and implementing local financial policies as necessary.
  • Managing and mentoring direct reports.

The ideal candidate will possess:

To excel in this role, it is essential to have a solid understanding of transactional finance and some experience in management, as this position includes overseeing three direct reports. A strong candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency, particularly in Excel, including the use of Pivot Tables and V-lookups.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Excel is crucial.
  • Experience in a management or supervisory role is essential.
  • Progress in professional studies such as ACCA or CIMA is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Excellent time management skills.
