PROCUREMENT MANAGER

As a Procurement Manager, you will be accountable for designated categories and the formulation of worldwide category strategies and initiatives aimed at optimizing expenses, streamlining the supplier base, and delivering value to the organization while minimizing risks. This role involves coordinating and spearheading strategy execution activities that support both Direct and Indirect expenditures. The primary focus will be on the Sugar & Sweeteners categories within the Traded Commodities Portfolio, which encompasses a diverse range of commodity-based raw materials, including grains, edible oils, and sugar.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee global procurement activities for assigned categories.
- Lead negotiations for procured materials and services to ensure optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is achieved.
- Formulate and execute strategies to guarantee the lowest overall costs while managing risks to the organization.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of markets, supply chains, and suppliers.
- Assist in make vs. buy analyses.
- Conduct formal presentations and coordinate supplier evaluations.
- Engage in planning and forecasting processes to establish standard costs and clarify price variances at the division level.
- Foster a high level of customer satisfaction by supporting Divisional projects and providing purchasing guidance and leadership.
- Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in a Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with relevant business exposure.
- Proven experience in project management and participation in large, multifaceted projects.
- Demonstrated success in leading projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience in managing and developing dynamic teams.
- Proven track record of significant cost-saving initiatives.
- In-depth knowledge of industries relevant to assigned categories.
- Technical proficiency in assigned categories.
- Systems capabilities to enhance supplier performance and negotiating leverage.
- Ability to evaluate and analyze moderately complex business challenges.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA or equivalent Master's Degree.
- Certification in CPM or APICS.
