Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

**Job Summary:**

  • To provide support to the kitchen team as and when required, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • To serve food and beverages to customers, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • To perform general kitchen duties, including food preparation, cooking, and cleaning, in accordance with health and safety regulations and company policies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets, promoting a culture of teamwork and open communication.
  • Comply with data protection legislation and the council's Information Security Policy, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of customer data.
  • Be flexible and agile in terms of working hours and location, including remote and home working as required, to meet the needs of the business and customers.

**Essential Experience:**

  • Experience of food preparation, cooking, and service in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Customer care experience, with a proven track record of providing excellent service and resolving customer complaints.
  • Supervisory or management experience of an institutional catering service, with a focus on menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.

**Essential Qualifications:**

  • Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certificate, demonstrating a commitment to food safety and hygiene practices.
  • City & Guilds 706 1 / 2 or NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking, or comparable experience, demonstrating a high level of culinary skills and knowledge.

**Additional Information:**

  • Working hours: 30 hours per week, providing a sustainable and manageable workload.
  • Working hours: 08:00am - 14:30pm, ensuring a consistent and reliable service delivery.
