Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Secondary SEMH provision in Northenden. Our school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who can provide mentorship and academic support to Key stage 3 and 4 students. The ideal candidate will have skills in health & social care, psychology, youth work, or sports coaching, and be able to work with students who have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mentorship and academic support to Key stage 3 and 4 students
  • Work with students who have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
  • Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop individualized plans for students
  • Monitor and report on student progress
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Skills in health & social care, psychology, youth work, or sports coaching
  • Ability to work with students who have an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
