About the Role

In this exciting position, you will become a key member of Capgemini's Digital Customer Experience (DCX) team, working alongside a passionate and innovative team of experts. Our approach combines design, technology, and business expertise to create innovative products, services, and businesses from scratch or transform existing ones.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct user-centred design and research activities for leading companies and government organisations, helping to build a vibrant design community through knowledge sharing.
  • Develop and grow as a user research practitioner, working within multidisciplinary teams to make a positive impact on the quality of our offer.
  • Drive conversations and help solve problems, influencing project direction for the best outcomes.
  • Work closely with clients, stakeholders, product managers, designers, developers, and other User Researchers to plan and conduct high-impact research.
  • Lead research for your team, suggesting the best approaches and methodologies to use to capture the right user insights.
  • Plan and run qualitative studies, including remote and in-person interviews, observations, diary studies, concept testing, and usability studies.
  • Use quantitative methods such as surveys to identify actionable insights and collaborate with the analytics team to enhance qualitative insights.
  • Consider the end-to-end user journey and external factors that may impact the user experience, including business, policy, and technical constraints.
  • Communicate research findings and involve your team in analysis and synthesis to develop empathy with the users and enable evidence-based design decisions.
  • Help to embed user-centred design and user research best practices into teams and the wider business.
Requirements
  • Solid knowledge of user experience design and principles.
  • Experience and demonstrable domain knowledge working with Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards, using GDS design principles.
  • Hands-on experience leading user research, using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods and knowing when to apply them appropriately.
  • Experience across multiple phases of a product or service lifecycle, from discovery and exploration through to design and delivery.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary, agile teams where you've led the user research and influenced the design of a product or service through the insights you've gathered.
  • Understanding of a range of tools and practices for in-person and remote research.
  • Knowledge of best practice and experience in research for users with accessibility and assisted digital needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, anthropology, Human Computer Interaction or any user experience degree or modules.

  • Ability to include a diverse range of users in appropriate research activities to help teams deliver accessible services.
