Position Title: Operations Manager (Site Transformation)

Location: Rochester, Kent. On-Site.

Compensation: Approximately £68,000 based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating and executing strategies and comprehensive plans for the transition of all manufacturing and logistics functions to a new facility.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure customer quality standards are met and timely deliveries are upheld during the facility transition.
  • Leading the procurement process for third-party services related to the transition, such as equipment relocation specialists, with support from indirect procurement.
  • Partnering with value stream leaders and their teams to allocate necessary resources to adhere to the project timeline and budget.
  • Coordinating closely with the Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) team to uphold safety protocols throughout the transition process.
  • Keeping the Operations workforce informed about the transition plans and progress to ensure transparency regarding upcoming changes.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in managing intricate manufacturing operations.
  • Strong ability to cultivate and sustain influential relationships across various organizational levels, demonstrating capability in a cross-functional environment while prioritizing business objectives.
  • Experience in project management, particularly in planning and executing large-scale complex initiatives.

Preferred:

  • Background in factory transitions or significant change initiatives.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and related tools.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.

About the Operations Team:
The Operations Manager (Site Transformation) will oversee the planning, transition, and process validation of all manufacturing activities from the current facility to a newly constructed factory on the Rochester site. As a vital member of the Site Transformation leadership team, the Operations Manager will also serve as the Change Account Manager (CAM) for the migration work package within the overall Site Transformation project framework.

The primary objective of this essential role is to ensure uninterrupted business operations throughout the transition, preventing any unplanned disruptions to customer deliveries, maintaining manufacturing cost efficiencies, and safeguarding the planned annual sales target of £350M. Achieving this will necessitate meticulous planning and a thorough understanding of customer contractual obligations concerning the relocation of manufacturing operations and the re-validation of manufacturing processes.
