Job Summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a skilled Second Chef to join our team. As a Second Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious and well-balanced menus for our residents. You will work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus that cater to the residents' preferences, ensuring they receive high-quality, appetizing, and nutritious meals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu development and food preparation
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
  • Complete regular audits and maintain stock control
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment within our home

Person Specification
  • City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification
  • Good understanding of nutrition and experience working with fresh, seasonal food
  • Warm and personable approach, ability to create a welcoming environment, and confidence in engaging with residents to develop appetizing and nutritious menus
