Job Summary

This role offers the opportunity to work with fresh seasonal produce and provide high-quality, personalized meals for residents in a care home setting. As a Second Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in menu development and create a warm and welcoming environment in the kitchen.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus
  • Work with residents to tailor menus around their needs
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
  • Complete regular audits and manage stock control

Person Specification
  • City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification
  • Good understanding of nutrition and experience working with fresh seasonal food
  • Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment
  • Confidence engaging with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus
