About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join our team at Omega. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, health, and safety across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Health and Safety Policies: Create and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  2. Lead by Example: Provide visible leadership and guidance on quality, health, and safety matters, setting a positive tone for the team and promoting a culture of excellence.
  3. Embed Industry Standards: Ensure the implementation and maintenance of ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO14064, and ISO45001 standards across our operations, conducting regular audits and continuous improvement activities to maintain accreditations.
  4. Advise on Safe Systems of Work: Develop and maintain safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing support for risk assessments and method statements.
  5. Measure Performance: Monitor and report on quality, health, and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  6. Foster a Culture of Excellence: Promote a high standard of quality, safety, and environmental awareness among employees, encouraging engagement and participation in our STEP123 and Think Safe initiatives.
  7. Prepare Evidence for Accreditation: Gather and present quality, health, and safety evidence for third-party auditors, ensuring the maintenance of our ISO accreditations and awards.
  8. Support Business Growth: Provide health, safety, and environmental information for new project tenders, supporting our organization's growth and expansion.
  9. Investigate Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  10. Monitor Compliance: Promote and monitor compliance with safety, health, quality, and environmental programs, ensuring that our team members are aware of and adhere to our policies and procedures.
  11. Develop the IMS: Maintain and develop our Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring that it remains effective and efficient in supporting our business objectives.
Requirements
  1. Experience: At least 5 years of relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental management experience, preferably in a heavy manufacturing or construction environment.
  2. Qualifications: Auditor qualification leading to lead auditor, NEBOSH general certificate, IEMA Environmental Management qualification, and experience with heavy manufacturing and MIG/MAG welding.
  3. Skills: Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and third-party auditors.
  4. Professional Membership: Membership of a professional body such as IOSH or similar would be beneficial.
