About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior SHEQ Professional to join our team at Omega. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental management across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement SHEQ Policies: Organize and implement quality, health, safety, and environmental control by developing and implementing policies aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  2. Lead by Example: Provide active, visible leadership for all quality, health, safety, and environmental matters and lead by example at all times.
  3. Embed Industry Standards: Embed the requirements of ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO14064, EN1090-2, and ISO45001 standards within our activities, ensuring specific requirements are implemented and measured by auditing and continuous improvement activities to maintain accreditations.
  4. Advise and Assist: Advise and assist in the development and maintenance of safe systems of work and relevant records associated with evidencing compliance with legislation.
  5. Support Risk Assessments: Provide support in developing risk assessments and method statements, including training personnel.
  6. Measure Performance: Measure quality, health, safety, and environmental performance, using results to benchmark minimum standards within the company and from our supply chain partners. Identify 'Key Performance Indicators' for quality, health, and safety, set objectives, and targets, and measure performance against them, reporting results to Directors.
  7. Foster a Culture of Excellence: Foster a high standard of quality, safety, and environmental awareness culture by ensuring worker engagement with our organization's STEP123 and Think Safe beliefs.
  8. Prepare Evidence: Prepare quality, health, safety, and environmental evidence for provision to third-party awarding bodies to achieve and maintain our organization's ISO accreditations and awards.
  9. Support Project Tenders: Support the organization by providing health, safety, and environmental information for new project tenders.
  10. Investigate Incidents: Investigate incidents when required to identify root cause and prevent reoccurrence. Share lessons learned and good practice throughout the company and with all relevant stakeholders.
  11. Promote Compliance: Promote and monitor compliance with safety, health, quality, environmental programs, and training initiatives.
  12. Maintain IMS: Maintain and develop our organization's Integrated Management System (IMS).
  13. Travel Requirements: Some UK and overseas travel will be required, which will be fully expensed by the organization.
Requirements
  1. Relevant Experience: At least 5 years of relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental management experience.
  2. Auditor Qualification: Auditor qualification leading to lead auditor.
  3. NEBOSH General Certificate: NEBOSH general certificate minimum qualification.
  4. IEMA Environmental Management Qualification: IEMA Environmental Management qualification.
  5. Heavy Manufacturing Experience: Experience of heavy manufacturing and MIG/MAG welding.
  6. Strong Management Skills: Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with the team, clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and third-party auditors.
  7. Professional Membership: Membership of a Professional Body such as IOSH or similar would also be beneficial.
