Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Executive Chef to lead our food manufacturing operations at Scoff Meals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large-scale food production, with expertise in optimising processes, ensuring consistency, and upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality. As the Executive Chef, you will oversee all aspects of meal production, from recipe development to the final packaged product, ensuring that every meal meets our rigorous standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Lead and manage the entire food manufacturing process, from ingredient preparation to cooking, packaging, and distribution. Ensure all operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Recipe Development & Standardisation: Develop and refine recipes that can be consistently produced at scale, ensuring that each meal meets Scoff Meals' nutritional, taste, and quality standards.
  • Process Optimisation: Implement and continuously improve production processes to maximise efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent quality. Utilise Lean manufacturing principles to drive improvements.
  • Quality Control & Food Safety: Establish and maintain stringent quality control and food safety protocols, in compliance with local and national regulations. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the production team, providing training on best practices in food manufacturing. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Manage inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure a steady flow of high-quality ingredients. Optimise procurement processes to minimise costs while maintaining quality.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage the production budget, monitoring costs and implementing strategies to maintain profitability. Work closely with the operations team to forecast and control production costs.
  • Customer Focus: Collaborate with the customer service and sales teams to gather feedback and adjust product offerings based on customer preferences and market trends.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior role within a food manufacturing or large-scale food production environment.
  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Expertise in food safety regulations, HACCP, and GMP compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team in a high-volume production setting.
  • Experience in process optimisation and cost control within a manufacturing context.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience in food production.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
