Lead Digital Portfolio Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Digital Portfolio Manager to join our team at DWP Digital. As a key member of our digital leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple digital projects and ensuring that our portfolio delivers optimal outcomes, contributes to the department's aims, and delivers against our Digital Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set standards for delivery, assurance, and financial planning processes
  • Identify KPIs and OKRs to determine if we're delivering on target and to budget
  • Lead a team of portfolio managers and work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the delivery of value-driven digital solutions
  • Influence the Senior Leadership Team, including the Director and Deputy Directors, and provide updates on portfolio progress, manage risks, and ensure governance across all projects
  • Collaborate with other business and technical teams to assist with the development of ongoing reliability, performance, and support
  • Track KPIs and address any strategic challenges and underperformance
  • Implement organisational governance, financial, and assurance frameworks, including taking accountability for and delivering critical improvement activity to strengthen and comply with existing governance and assurance controls

Requirements

  • Recognised Portfolio or Project Management qualification, such as Management of Portfolios (Foundation & Practitioner), Prince2, or Portfolio Management Institute
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at a senior level
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to build, manage, and influence key strategic relationships
  • Ability to analyse and interpret multiple data sets to create board-level reports and positively influence board-level stakeholders
