We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employability Tutor to join our team at Novus, a leading provider of prison education. As an Employability Tutor, you will play a crucial role in improving the employability of prisoners by delivering high-quality employability lessons to groups of up to 15 learners.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver employability lessons to groups of up to 15 learners, covering the full curriculum when required.
- Contextualize delivery within classrooms and workshops to improve prisoners' knowledge and skills to enable them to be successful in finding employment on release.
- Work closely with the education team to ensure a positive learner experience and cater to individual needs.
- Collaborate with the prison security team to ensure lessons run safely and smoothly.
- A teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale.
- Hold at least a Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE A-C) qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
- Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Have a history of working effectively with people presenting challenging behavior.
