Role Overview: The Lead SHEQ Advisor serves as a champion of the company's Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) ethos, offering expert assurance, guidance, and mentorship throughout the organization in all aspects of SHEQ Management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and identify opportunities for enhancing SHEQ performance while supporting the license to stop process.
  • Assist in SHEQ initiatives across various projects to ensure adherence to CDM, customer, legislative, certification, and stakeholder requirements, including the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), and other relevant documentation.
  • Provide expert advice on matters related to occupational health, safety, environmental standards, quality assurance, and employee well-being.
  • Conduct thorough audits, inspections, and site assessments to monitor and improve SHEQ performance, collaborating with operational project management to ensure that performance standards are met and exceeded.
  • Encourage operational teams to take responsibility for SHEQ behaviors and address SHEQ inquiries within the organization to ensure effective learning and improvement.
  • Track and report on SHEQ performance metrics, identifying areas for enhancement using company systems, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of SHEQ best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the advancement of SHEQ performance and certification to ISO 45001 and 14001 standards by aiding in the development and implementation of SHEQ procedures, policies, and initiatives, ensuring alignment of ISO management systems with business goals, and staying informed on changes in ISO standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of corrective and preventive action plans, maintaining precise SHEQ documentation, including policies, procedures, and records, and preparing SHEQ performance reports for management review, highlighting metrics, trends, and key indicators.
  • Ensure that quality, health, safety, information security, and environmental outcomes are prioritized in all actions, fostering a culture of idea exchange, adhering to ISO systems, and reporting incidents. Emphasize health, safety, collaboration with management, asset protection, and responsible equipment usage.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading safety discussions with diverse groups, conducting audits, and managing non-conformances.
  • Demonstrated leadership by example with a strong commitment to personal safety and the ability to challenge unsafe behaviors in accordance with the company's Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality guidelines.
  • NEBOSH construction certificate; a full UK driving license is required, and the candidate must be willing to travel.
  • Auditing qualifications, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid certifications are preferred, though training can be provided.
