Job Title: Research Associate in Palaeoecology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate in Palaeoecology to join our team at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will be part of the Conservation Palaeoecology Lab and will work closely with Dr Matthew Adeleye and other researchers in the Department of Geography.

Job Summary:

The Research Associate will employ proxy-based palaeoecological approaches, ecological methods, and local historical records to generate robust palaeoecological records for wetland sites in the UK and Alderney. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Earth Science or a related discipline and a background in palaeoecology/palaeoenvironment. They will be proficient in computing platforms and quantitative skills, with excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employ proxy-based palaeoecological approaches to generate robust palaeoecological records for wetland sites
  • Use ecological methods and local historical records to support palaeoecological research
  • Work closely with Dr Matthew Adeleye and other researchers in the Department of Geography
  • Participate in data processing and interpretation
Requirements:
  • PhD in Earth Science or a related discipline
  • Background in palaeoecology/palaeoenvironment
  • Proficiency in computing platforms and quantitative skills
