Position Type: Full Time

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and execute successful operations for events, hospitality, and conference areas in collaboration with department heads.
  • Coordinate with marketing, events, and sales teams to deliver services that meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Brief the events team on all business aspects and oversee the execution of events, working lunches, and dining experiences.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by meeting their requirements and communicating any on-the-day changes to relevant personnel.
  • Manage the events team, hospitality manager, and porters, maintaining daily communication regarding business operations and staff delegation.
  • Assist in the development of the waiting team, ensuring adherence to operational standards and providing necessary training.
  • Conduct ongoing training for staff, ensuring all training is documented in personal files and training matrices.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative and governmental guidelines, including food safety, health and safety, and data protection regulations.
  • Provide training to staff to ensure adherence to departmental standards, including agency and casual labor.
  • Implement staff induction and mandatory training within the first three months of employment, monitoring performance during probation.
  • Monitor departmental standards daily and report any concerns to line managers.
  • Collaborate with key personnel in kitchen, events, reception, and AV to ensure consistent food and service quality.
  • Ensure staff present themselves professionally and adhere to grooming standards as outlined in the company handbook.
  • Address customer complaints effectively and refer unresolved issues to the Deputy General Manager.
  • Conduct regular inspections of event areas for maintenance and safety issues, reporting urgent matters to facilities management.
  • Adhere to in-house accounting policies and monitor food and beverage control, including bi-monthly stock takes.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures and report discrepancies to the Operations Manager.
  • Oversee agency staff, ensuring accurate timesheet completion for payment processing.
  • Possess excellent product knowledge in food and beverage.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing large-scale events and dinners.
  • Exhibit strong business acumen and lead by example with professionalism.
  • Possess excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Be a supportive team player, financially astute, and possess strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate experience in team leadership and exceptional customer care skills.
