Job Summary

The Nelson Trust is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Women's Justice Recovery Specialist. This exciting role offers the opportunity to work with women in a holistic, trauma-informed way, to achieve lasting change.

About the Role

This fast-paced position involves providing intensive support to women who face multiple disadvantages and are in the Criminal Justice system due to substance misuse. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to empower women to access services and opportunities, preventing their return to the Criminal Justice System.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support women in their transition from custody to community, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Work in collaboration with other agencies to provide a strong wrap-around support, primarily to access and sustain engagement in substance misuse treatment.
  • Build trusting relationships with women, promoting a planned transition from custody to community.
  • Develop and implement creative and dynamic approaches to joint work with other agencies, ensuring a woman has a strong support network.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience of engaging with women and building trusting relationships. They will be independent, dynamic, and creative in their approach to joint work with other agencies.

Working Arrangements

This role is based at the Bristol Women's Centre, supporting women both within the community and with women in HMP Eastwood Park.
