Chef - HMP Dovegate

Culinary Excellence in a Secure Environment
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at HMP Dovegate, a Category B adult male facility. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in the supervision of prisoners/kitchen workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality catering services to the establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve varied and healthy menus for residents, including special diets, special events, and religious events.
- Supervise prisoners and kitchen workers, maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
- Ensure the security and food safety of all foodstuffs, equipment, and infrastructure within the kitchen area.
- Record and document all relevant paperwork to comply with food hygiene regulations, Health & Safety, HACCP, and company policies.
- Perform random quality checks on service points before, during, and after mealtimes.
Requirements:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to think quickly and react to different situations.
- Working experience in catering to a large operation or a similar custodial environment.
- Physical capability to work long shifts.
- NVQ Level 1 & 2 Basic Food knowledge or equivalent.
- Basic Food Hygiene - Intermediate would be an advantage.
