About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Midwife to join our dynamic Midwifery Leadership Team as the Deputy Director of Midwifery for Governance. This part-time role, initially for 11 months due to internal secondment, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and implementation of governance within our Maternity, Neonatal and Gynaecology services.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide crucial support to the Director of Midwifery in shaping and executing the governance strategy for maternity services across a wide range of responsibilities.
- Ensure the seamless and efficient operation of the department, overseeing the daily running of the Maternity Department, including the Quality and Risk Manager and their team.
- Take on responsibility and leadership for the governance agenda across Maternity, Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G).
- Collaborate with the Director of Midwifery to implement a comprehensive and systematic approach to governance within O&G.
- Provide professional leadership and management to the Quality and Risk Team, specialist midwives, and the wider Midwifery Leadership Team.
- Play a vital role in ensuring that all aspects of risk are effectively managed to safeguard women's safety.
- Continuously improve the management of women's safety by developing programs for enhancing patient safety and governance as needed.
About You
You will be a highly experienced Senior Midwife with a proven track record in leading governance initiatives within a healthcare setting. Your strong leadership skills, coupled with your commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, will make you a valuable asset to our team.
