Job Title: Deputy Director of Transformation

This is a pivotal role within the Transformation and Sustainability team, comprising key responsibilities including management of the team, planning and provision of support, facilitation and monitoring of the directorate's programme of work, and design and development of robust systems and processes.

Main Duties:
  • Expertise in transformation, change, project management, and sustainability, with experience in mobilising and running complex projects in the health sector.
  • Leadership and management of the Transformation and Sustainability team, including employee relations, budget management, and development of a kind and respectful culture.
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Transformation and Sustainability service, including operational and strategic decision-making, policy development, and performance management.
  • Advocacy for sustainability initiatives and cost improvement programmes, with the ability to influence and persuade senior managers and stakeholders.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to work with various levels of staff and large groups.
Person Specification:
  • Educated to degree level, with evidence of higher-level study or specialist project management knowledge.
  • Intermediate to advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge across a broad range of areas relating to transformation, change, project management, and sustainability.
  • Previous experience of mobilising and running complex projects in the health sector, with cost, quality, social, and environmental improvement.
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare sustainability management principles, procedures, processes, and legislation.
