Falkirk, Falkirk, United Kingdom Aberlour Child Care Trust Full time

Join a Leading Organization Committed to Supporting Families in Recovery

At Aberlour Child Care Trust, we are excited to announce the establishment of a new dedicated facility aimed at supporting mothers and their children during the recovery process. Our initiative is designed to provide a nurturing environment for women grappling with substance use issues, allowing them to stay with their children while they work towards recovery.

About Our Recovery House

Our Mother and Child Recovery House will accommodate up to four mothers and their children under the age of five. This facility is built on the success of our previous programs and is backed by the Scottish Government, ensuring that we can provide the highest quality of care and support.

We will implement the Parents Under Pressure (PuP) program, which is tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. This program focuses on enhancing parenting skills, understanding child behavior, and managing parental emotions. Each mother will receive a personalized Workbook that serves as both a guide and a journal throughout their recovery journey.

Our Vision for Change

We believe that too many women with substance use challenges are at risk of losing their children to care systems. Our goal is to improve outcomes for these families, reduce the risk of maternal fatalities related to substance use, and promote family unity. By creating a supportive environment, we aim to foster secure and loving relationships between mothers and their children.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Family Support Worker (Nights) to join our compassionate and trauma-informed team. In this role, you will provide essential residential support to mothers and their children, helping them achieve their personal goals and aspirations. This position requires a commitment of 35 hours per week during nighttime shifts.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have experience working directly with mothers in recovery, enhancing their skills and capacity to care for their children. Collaboration with other professional agencies is essential, along with a solid understanding of the impact of substance use on families.

Applicants should possess a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or equivalent experience. We encourage individuals with lived experience of recovery from substance use to apply, as their insights are invaluable in supporting our clients.

What We Offer

At Aberlour, we value our employees and strive to provide a supportive work environment. We offer competitive annual leave, a robust employer pension scheme, and various discounts across retailers. Our commitment to training and professional development ensures that our team members are well-equipped to make a difference in the lives of families.

Join Us in Making a Difference

If you share our vision of supporting families in their recovery journey, we invite you to consider this opportunity to join our dedicated team.
