Adway Associates is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to become a vital part of our Economic Crime Risk Policy & Training team. This team plays a crucial role in developing and upholding the policies and standards related to Economic Crime, as well as crafting the content for the mandatory training that is disseminated across the organization. The team is also responsible for continuously updating the Economic Crime training strategy and monitoring any legislative or regulatory developments that may influence our economic crime control framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough impact assessments and gap analyses concerning forthcoming legislative or regulatory changes that may affect our Economic Crime policies and standards. This includes participating in relevant industry meetings and providing comprehensive updates throughout the organization, including executive summaries for governance forums.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of policies and standards related to AML/CTF/CPF & Sanctions, ABC, and FoTE. This involves evaluating proposed changes for feasibility, considering potential legal and regulatory implications, and assisting the Economic Crime Policy Manager throughout the consultation and governance processes.
  • Managing the mandatory Economic Crime eLearning modules and recommending enhancements to the Head of Economic Crime Policy & Training.
  • Providing oversight and support for role-specific training initiatives led by the first line of defense Economic Crime Hub, which includes reviewing course materials and offering subject matter expert input.
  • Addressing inquiries from the first line of defense Economic Crime Hub and the second line of defense Economic Crime Risk teams, delivering informed and concise responses based on policies, standards, and your own regulatory expertise.
  • Assisting in evaluating non-regulatory or legislative changes identified through horizon scanning and directing them to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and approving exceptions (exemptions and dispensations) resulting from policy gap analysis activities.
  • Representing the Economic Crime Policy Manager or Head of Economic Crime Policy & Training at governance, change, and other internal meetings as necessary.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience and understanding of how Economic Crime legal, regulatory, and industry guidance is integrated into internal policies, procedures, and controls.
  • A strong grasp of Economic Crime concepts, particularly in relation to AML/CTF/CPF & Sanctions, ABC, and FoTE.
  • Exceptional communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Experience in a similar risk management role.
  • A demonstrated history of effective stakeholder management, both internally and externally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial services qualifications, such as ICA, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with the bank's products and services, particularly those aimed at supporting vulnerable customers.
